Selling Our Ocean Floors

Newly available documents indicate that Irving Oil has bought 200 hectares of ocean floor in the Bay of Fundy. So far, more documents to follow, it seems the Fundy floor is needed as part of Energy East infrastructure.

Kalamazoo spill of dilbit was the first major dilbit spill. We learned that much or most of the dilbit spilled does not float. Cleanup of sunken tanker in Bay of Fundy or the Gulf of Maine will be a disaster that cannot be measured or paid for. The fishing and lobstering could be gone forever. The ocean habitat for all other sea creatures will also be disturbed forever.
